Welcome to Mommy Break Inc., a safe haven where mothers of all ages and stages are seen, supported, and celebrated.

Mommy Break is a nonprofit dedicated to creating safe, empowering spaces for mothers to recharge, connect, and grow. We offer in-person and virtual support groups, wellness experiences, and resources tailored to the needs of modern moms; especially those raising children with unique challenges. Our mission is to remind every mom: that taking a break isn’t giving up, it’s taking care of yourself.

We know motherhood is beautiful, but it’s also challenging, overwhelming, and often lonely. That’s why we’re here. Mommy Break was created to give you space to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with you. Whether you’re a new mom, a seasoned mama, or somewhere in between, this is your community.

Meet the Founder

Because every mom deserves a break and a breakthrough.

Kengela Gia, a teen mom turned transformational leader, founded Mommy Break to create a safe, uplifting space for mothers; especially teen moms, single moms, and those navigating life’s toughest seasons.

Through faith-centered programs, life skills workshops, mentorship, and our signature Mommy Break Sisterhood, Kengela walks alongside moms, helping them heal, grow, and thrive. She knows firsthand how isolating motherhood can feel, and she’s committed to building a community where support, sisterhood, and growth are real.

Driven by compassion, authenticity, and lived experience, Kengela is turning her calling into a movement: one break, one breakthrough at a time.

Angela Dukes Roach, mother of our founder Kengela, is an author, mentor, and the OG Program Director for Mommy Break Inc. With a lifetime of raising families, overcoming challenges, and leading her own outreach ministry, Angela brings wisdom, grace, and hands-on experience to every mother she supports. She empowers women 50 and older to rest, recharge, and reconnect with themselves through the Mommy Break OG program, offering enriching activities, fellowship, and guidance. Angela’s dedication to uplifting mothers and inspiring the next generation makes her a trusted role model and advocate in the community.
